My Heart Will Go On

Quinn lay on the bed in the Dominion Hotel, trying to sleep. A radio played softly on the night stand. Rembrandt, Colin, and Maggie were all down in the bar, enjoying a drink, but Quinn didn't feel like socializing. It just wasn't the same without Wade. He rolled onto his side as Celine Dion began singing on the radio:

Every night in my dreams, I see you, I feel you
That is how I know you go on.

Quinn sighed as he remembered the dreams he'd been having about Wade lately. Most were memories of the good times they'd had together, others were nightmares of her being just out of his reach.

Far across the distance and spaces between us,
You have come to show you go on.

Swallowing the lump in his throat, Quinn thought about Wade, worlds away with the Kromaggs. Would he ever find her again? Would he be too late?

Near, far, wherever you are,I believe that the heart does go on.
Once more, you open the door,
And you're here in my heart,
And my heart will go on and on.

Tears welled up in Quinn's eyes. Not just his heart would go on with Wade. He knew that he would go on sliding until he found her, or found out what had happened to her.

Love can touch us one time and last for a lifetime,
And never let go till we're gone.

A tear rolled down Quinn's face. He had never fully realized how deep his love was for Wade. Now that she was gone, he knew what he had been missing the years that they were "friends."

Love was when I loved you, one true time I hold to,
In my life we'll always go on.

He really had loved her, and knew now that he would never love anyone else the same way. His feelings for Maggie were a pale reflection of what he felt for Wade. He buried his face in the pillow.

Near, far, wherever you are,
I believe that the heart does go on.
Once more, you open the door,
And you're here in my heart,
And my heart will go on and on.

Memories and images flashed unbidden through Quinn's mind. Wade's smile, their romantic moment on the world about to be destroyed by an asteroid, his grief when he thought she had committed suicide, nearly every experience they had while sliding.

You're here, there's nothing I fear,
And I know that my heart will go on.
We'll stay forever this way,
You are safe in my heart
And my heart will go on and on.

As the song ended, Quinn choked back a sob and whispered into the darkness, "I'll find you, Wade. I promise. Then I'll never let you go again." But until he found her, he would keep her in his heart.
